Our History

Founded in 2022 by a group of African immigrants and African Americans in Seattle, the Global African Community Initiative is a community-based non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization based in sister cities Seattle, Washington and Mombasa, Kenya that focuses on improving the lives of people of African Descent worldwide. Our aim is to help vulnerable populations live their healthiest lives and reach their fullest potential.

Our programs are intended to improve the health of people of African Descent through environmental justice, youth leadership development and women's empowerment. By creating virtual environmental learning experiences for youth, providing hygiene supplies and youth athletic programs, we are empowering people of all ages and abilities to improve their lives for the better ─ and we do it by building community connections beyond borders.
